Spring Time!

I am seriously in love with the baskets from the Picnic in the Park kit from  I also have a spoecial place for the Chantilly paper kit form close to my heart... So I combined them!  The result?  One of my all time favorite projects!  These colors just are so happy and perfect for a picnic!

The basket is fully functional, and opens on both sides like a regular picnic basket.  It's lovely for a gift bag, or just to keep and stare at on your desk, cause it's so gosh darn cute!

Hope you enjoyed today's project, and that you're inspired.  :)

Hark! Another Project!

First off, let me again say how good it is to be back!  Thank you for the sweets messages, the likes and the new follows! Comments and FB likes are just pure enjoyment.  I love the kind and fun crafty community...

I did manage to get a couple of projects out this weekend. This is another one for ME!  I never make myself stuff, it's always given away as gifts, so I decided to use favorite papers and colors and make a few fun little things.  This is the "jewelry box" from SVGcuts Playful Parlour Kit.

I used Close to my Hearts For Always paper pack and the Lagoon cardstock that comes in it.  I LOVE the Lagoon Cardstock and think I will stock up on it! :)  I topped it off with some of my favorite ribbon, also CTMH.

Nothing like a little embossing to make things extra fancy.  It also gives a lot of dimension to the piece with the embossing, and the white core peeking through is a lovely touch.
This little piece of cuteness holds three 3x3 post it packs and two of the small ones with it.  Perfect for my desktop!  I hope you enjoyed this project as much as me!
Thank you again for visiting and your kind words.

Hello! I have missed you!

Hello Crafty Friends!  I have missed you!  There has been a long dry spell of non-craftiness lately.  I am not sure what happened, but I clearly needed a break.  Finally yesterday the starts, the sun, moon and planets aligned and I was able to have some crafty time, and actually felt like using it!
I decided that my first order of business was to make some decorations for my desk at work.  Currently, there is nothing inspiring to look at while I am at my desk all day!  Terrible, right?

The first thing I made was a cute little basket to hold candy on my desk for my co-workers.  I used the new Picnic at the Park kit from my very favorite
The Claire paper pack from Close to my heart I thought would be really cute for this.  The denim paper is adorable as the basket weave!  (Well I think so anyways)

I have a couple more projects to share later this week as part of the desk decor project.
By the way, who is your favorite SVG source?

Thanks for visiting! I promise not to be such a stranger again!

Welcome to our March Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop!   As you know, both the Artiste and the Art Philosophy cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant.  If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Michelle ~ My Flights of Fancy then you are in the right place!
Our challenge this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a "BINGO" card!
Here is the BINGO card that our Consultants were given:
The Consultants were told they could  make anything they wanted using the Artiste OR Art Philosophy cartridge AND you work off the BINGO card posted above. Basically, you make a "BINGO" by going across, down, or diagonally and you have to use everything in that bingo line.
For my project I used the Artiste Cartridge and chose this 3D treat box. I also featured Close to My Heart's Chantilly paper pack. I made a quick little tag from scraps left over form decorating the box, some Spring (flowers) and some bling and Cha Ching! All done! I attached the tag with the CTMH burlap ribbon. It's one of my favorite things! The sentiment was stamped on vellum and adhered to the tag, for a little dimension that isn't easy to capture with the camera. I know just who this pretty little treat box will be for!
Your next stop on our "BINGO" hop is Jennifer ~ 4 Hearts Scrapbooking.
Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way:
  1. Lucy ~ Love 2 Create
  2.  Theodora ~ Celebrate Crafts
  3. Penny ~ It Makes Total Cents
  4. Michelle ~ My Flights of Fancy
  5. Melissa L- MyWatermelonMoon
  6. Jennifer ~ 4 Hearts Scrapbooking
  7. Michelle ~ My Creations with Michelle
  8. Traci ~ Paper Crafting 101
  9. Stephanie ~  The Quilted Scrapper
Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you.

HIMCR- Freestyle!

Today's Hiding in my Craft Room theme is Freestyle!  AKA ANYTHING you wanna make! :)  I hope you go link up a fun challenge.  My Freestyle project is really parts of what I think I decided will be a larger project. But I'm not sure ;)  Anywhooo.  I decided to decorate one of those cute little craft store dollar bird houses, and I did it all with paper!  Paper ribbons, paper wall painting, even a tiny little bunting for the birds! The imaginary ones anyhow. I don't want any real birds in there.  LOL.
I also made a cute little bunting banner to "Welcome" Spring in matching paper. Cause I love this random paper from my stash and I wanted to use it for something extra cute!
Got any guesses what I might use this stuff on?
Anyhow, I have had lots of fun with this week's "freestyle" project.  Sadly, this is my last week on the HIMCR design team.  I have had a fabulous time working with talented ladies and I am totally glad I did it! I wasn't able to continue because I have some other commitments that really need to come before crafting (what!?) and a weekly commitment is A LOT more work than I thought! lol  Lesson learned.

I hope you've enjoyed today's inspiration and I hope you enjoy the new DT gals too!  They are a super fabulous bunch.

HIMCR- Happy Anniversary!

This week's Hiding in my Craft Room challenge is an Anniversary Challenge!  Laurie's anniversary is today.  Some of the other gals have Anniversaries this month too!  So it's a timely challenge.  My Anniversary in fact is in just a couple short weeks too!
Technically this could be a super scraps Saturday post too, lol.  I used my favorite paper pack from close to my heart and a little bling to "hold" the banners on.  Other than that, i kept it simple and sweet.  Just how i like it!

Oh how I love thee...

I am totally having a love affair with Pinterest.  There are so many clever, yummy and fun to look at things on there.  I am inspired... ready to go craft... then...

Then sometimes I hate Pinterest.  Who has time to make all this stuff?  And the money?  And the talent, and creativity!  Sometimes it makes me feel... inadequate. Like a slacker.

Mostly I love it.  I have been making much lately.  You know that whole life in the way thing.  So today, I thought I would share a couple of this weeks pins that I am inspired to try!

Faux Chalkboard Art

I am totally a fan of the chalkboard art thing going on these days.  I am looking forward to a quiet few moments to give this one a try:

There is a You Tube video and everything over at:  What you Make It

Interactive Cards

I'm excited about this interactive card i found over at Ribbon Girls

This beautiful  pop up card looks lovely and like lots of fun to make.  This tutorial at Crafticious will hopefully get me through!

A tisket, a tasket...

...a pretty springtime basket!

There hasn't been much time for crafting round these parts, but here is the last of the projects i finished over the weekend.  This cute little tulip basket and the carrots are both from files.  Carrots are from the Hippity hoppity Kit and the Egg Hunt kit.  Both were super fast and easy to make and they are just so darn cute!
I hope that you are all having fun making spring time crafts.  I can't believe that Easter is so soon this year!  We might have to celebrate again in April just so I have ample time to make cute crafts. Sigh.
It's been a busy week, but I have a date tomorrow with Miss Molly (my Cameo) and it will be super fun!

As the children get older, tender moments are becoming a rarity.  Sigh.  It makes me so sad!  This rare moment was caught last summer at the fair.

I used SVGCuts Love Always kit to make the lovely frame.  I also used a current favorite paper pack, Chantilly.  This frame kit is beautiful, and super easy to put together!  I think I will makes some more and hang them at work.  The fabric cubicle walls cant hold traditional glass and wood frames easily, but they sure could hold these paper frames that are lovely to boot!

It feels so good to get some crafty time in!  I hope you are having a craftatic weekend too!

Let's not let that happen again...

Sometimes work and mom responsibilities take priority over crafting.  I know, I know.  Ridiculous.  I mean don't they know how sad it has been?  I feel like it's been years since I played in my crafty spot.  It actually has been about two weeks.  Something must be done to prevent such tragedies.  This can't go on.

Friday night and FINALLY a night with no obligations, no place to go... BLISS!  I spent just a little time in my happy place and made something I really wanted to!  Hooray!!!  The newest SVGcuts kit is cuteness overload.  This mushroom box?  The best of the bunch.  So I started with it!

I choose to use all plain card stock for round one.  This is just here and there stuff from the ludicrously large stash.  I thought that it would be fun to add texture with my embossing folders.  I am loving how it turned out.  I plan to make the rest of the village this weekend in between the weekend plans.  Then I am taking them to work so I can brighten my space.

So here is the recipe:
  • SVG Cuts Cottontail Village Kit & a cutter that cuts SVG files
  • Cardstock stash in colors you love.
  • Glue & Patience
  • Random coordinating butterflies from an embellishment stash you have no clue why you bought.

I hope you enjoyed today's "HEY, I'm Baaaaack post"  I also hope you make your own magic mushrooms to adorn your life.  Seriously, everyone needs at least one or six!

HIMCR- Super Scraps Saturday!

Hi Folks!  It's time again for Super Scraps Saturday over at Hiding in my Craft Room.
Believe it or not, this cute little guy is from my scrap stash.  The first clue is that the little fellow is pink with a yellow beak instead of yellow bodied!  But I didn't have a yellow scrap big enough.  But I had pink, so I went with it. LOL.  This cute little one piece box is not very big, so you only need a scrap ever so slightly bigger than a 6x6 square.  The yellow scrap?  less than 2x2.  But when a gal hasn't been in her craft room for oh-so-long and she REALLY wants to make stuff with her newest SVG kits?  She finds a way! :)
I picked up this kit at and can't wait to make some more fun stuff form the kit too!  Those big 'ol eyes are from my Peachy Keen Stamp collection.  I thought they were adorable! Anywho... hope you enjoyed this quick Super Scraps Saturday!

His cute little head lifts up and... He is stuffed full with some yummy treats!  A small army of these little guys would be adorable on the Easter table.  Just an idea.  ;)

Damask Divas Chantilly Blog Hop

Welcome to the March Damask Diva's Blog Hop! This month we are featuring the beautiful Chantilly Paper Pack! I adore the happy colors and the adorable paisley in this super fun paper pack.  It *might* be my favorite from the new Idea book.
If you came from Lilian's blog, you are in the right place.  If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants you will also want to hop over there to enter this month's giveaway!

Here is my project:
For today's project I made this birthday card an tried to feature as much of the paper pack as possible since I love it so much! I am drawn to circles on layouts, but I never seem to make any! So this month, I went circle crazy. I decided to use some kraft cardstock from my stash to help highlight the Chantilly paper colors. I also wanted to slip the burlap ribbon in the project too, one of my favorite Close to my Heart products!
I used my Artiste cartridge to cut the circles, the lacy kraft paper doilies and the lacy paper ribbon. I also used Artiste to cut the flowers that I stamped with coordinating cotton candy, pear and buttercup ink. The button in the middle of the layered flower and the pink glitter bling is from the Chantilly workshop on the go kit.
The next blog on the list is Ashley's blog. Hope you have a great time on our hop and checking out all the creations using the fun Chantilly paper pack. If you get lost or you are ready to sign up for the giveaway, just hop on over to Damask Divas blog for the full list.

For Always

Welcome to our February Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop!   As you know, these cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant.  If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!

Our theme this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a brand NEW paper pack from Close to My Heart - "For Always".   In this hop, you will see projects featuring one (or both!) of our versatile Cricut cartridges with this paper pack from many talented crafty ladies!  Enjoy our blog hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Ellen of Card Monkey's Paper Jungle then you are in the right place!

Here is my project I made for you today! The beautiful flower box is from the Artiste cartridge. I used the Ruby card stock that comes in the For Always paper pack and inked the edges of the For Always patterned paper with Ruby ink as well. I used coordinating papers for the card as well. The frame cut out on the card is also from the Artiste cartridge. The For Always paper pack is elegant yet very versatile. It can be used for a monotone theme, or with a splash of color like I have here. I hope that you enjoyed today's project and plan to make For Always part of your collection!

Your next stop on our "For Always" hop is Jennifer of 4Hearts Scrapbooking.

HIMCR Weekly Challenge

This week's Hiding in my Craft Room Challenge is to "use a kit".  This week I am using Digital Kits!  I have been acquiring digital kits here and there and I am finding that I really enjoy them.  This was from a fun little bowling trip we took the kids to at Halloween time.  I love this little bowling alley and wanted a fun way to share our excursion.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks inspiration and that you go check out the other design team members inspirations over at Hiding in my Craft Room.

Birthday Blast!

Although this plague is holding tight, I ventured out of bed long enough to whip up a quick card for the Peachy Keen Weekly Challenge.  I have had my new SOTM stamps for over a week and I have been DYING to use them!
So here is the sketch for the challenge:

Aaaand here is what I made!

Can I tell you that the hardest part is getting a decent photo of this?  The colors and the sparkles just didn't want to cooperate.
I hope you enjoyed today's little challenge creation, and I hope you get your Peachy Keen Stamps out and enter too!
Operation Write Home is in need of kids Birthday cards, and I am guessing boys are the hardest.  I plan to use this kit much more for some boys' cards.

HIMCR Challenge- Embossing!

This week's Hiding in my Craft Room Challenge is Embossing.  Although I have the plague, and I am not up to making anything, I managed this quick little card.  The most awesome thing is that embossing is a super fast and easy way to make a project look and seem fancy, when it was really a snap!  Breaking down and buying a Cuttlebug and embossing folders has been hands down one fo my top 5 investments.  Here is the little card:

Getting Ready for Valentine's Day!

So this weekend seemed like a good time to start my Valentine's projects... you know, BEFORE the holiday is here and gone.  I don't know what's wrong with me, but I am more inspired to be crafty for holidays once they have passed.  Thankfully Valentine's isn't like the big holiday season and I guess I really am not too overwhelmed to get stuff done on time...
In one of my less than genius moments, I asked m y son if he thought it would be a good idea to give mail boxes to his classmates.  Naturally, he thought it was a great idea, and so I finally sat down and made them yesterday.  It started off 6,  then I added one, cause I wanted one made form some clearance paper I found and loved. But as soon as I started making it, I realized it would be commandeered for his teacher. It was.

Okay, so in all 8 happened.  But #3 I had figured out the secret to the curvy part and not ripping my hair out with frustration.  So here they are (sorry about the poor photo quality, that part was not coming together very well...sigh):
The boy's boxes.  My daughter convinced him they should all be different colors. Argh.

My fave, I decided to keep for me :)

This one is for teacher, although I really like it too and it's a tough choice! :)

I have one more project to do for V Day.  I might even get it done in time! ;)
Have a fabulous Monday friends!

Life is just Peachy

I decided to play along this month with Peachy Keen Stamps release challenges on the Peachy Keen Connection.
Challenge number one was a to include dots, stripes and a PKS stamp.  Here is what I came up with:
Isn't she adorable? She is from the first ever PKS stamp of the month set and now that I figured out how to color her, I really love her!  I fussy cut the dress and heart to include the dots and stripes.  I water colored the rest of the image.  Water coloring stamped images is my medium. Sometimes colored pencils.  Markers? FORGEDDABOUDIT.  We are NOT friends.
I also wanted to highlight the beautiful handmade background paper I used, so I stamped the sentiment right on it!

Challenge number two was a monochrome challenge, but using any colors we like!  I went with cream and brown for my color scheme.
I am in love with that ribbon I bought from Close to my Heart and I decided some hand drawn stitching might be fun.  I love the cute retro faces from PKS.

Lastly, my baby girl was feeling a little better after being home all week with a nasty bug, so she played along too.  She went with the monochrome, pink & cream were her color choice and here is what she came up with:
Gosh that bear is adorable!

I hope you enjoyed today's fun!  I think I might try some more challenges...I haven't been playing along for a while and this was really fun!

Valentine Wreath!

I had a great time making this Valentine's Day Wreath!  I didn't have to go out and buy anything, I used all on hand supplies including the wreath base!   You might recognize this wreath base from a couple of  projects I did last fall here and here.   We live in a fairly small home and don't have a lot of storage room.  I love the grapevine wreaths and so, I just keep decorating it!
I mostly used Miss Molly to complete this project, but Amelia got a chance to add a little something too!

Amelia helped with the XO.  They are from the Cricut Carousel Cartridge.  The glitter is actually Close to my Heart's new glitter paper!  It was easy peasy to add a little shine to this project with this paper.
Miss Molly did the rest of the work.  The hearts & the banner.  I used my Silhouette sketch pens to write the "All you need is"  and then used a shape that actually comes with the Silhouette software for the banner.  The ink is actually glitter ink, but it's hard to see in the photos.
So that I would have a scalloped layer to go behind the LOVE hearts, I used my Valentine mailboxes kit so all of the hearts would match.  I used my Cuttlebug (and realized I forgot to name her! To be rectified shortly...)  to emboss and give some texture to the LOVE on the strings.  I originally was going to just hang the LOVE hearts and came up with suspending them so they and some other hearts could float in the middle of the wreath.  I really like how that turned out!  Do you?

Well I hope you enjoyed today's project.  I have some more this week for Valentine's day (hopefully).  Oh and the hardest part about making a wreath?  Photographing it.  Trust me.
Have a fabulous day friends!

P.S. Have you checked out the new Spring Summer Catalog yet?  I'm in LOVE!
