My baby girl will officially become a teenager just a few short days from now. I can tell you that she is totally ready, and totally am NOT! But ready or not, here we go!
This year she actually opted for a small party. We have some super-duper fun stuff planned and we promised not to be too embarrassing. Well more specifically, I promised, her dad did not. Hopefully he can behave!
We were recently helping another friend decide on some baby shower invitations. Vintage-ish, shabby chic-ish was a clear winner amongnst all of us girls. Baby girl ( I can still call her that, right?) Wanted to stick with that feel, and it HAD to involve pink. We found this beautiful adhesive backed fabric paper stuff at Joann's, had some lovely cream colored blank cards in the closet, and decided that her silhouette that we had done at Disneyland last year would be a nice personal touch! I also find it amusing that we used the Silhouette Cameo to make the silhouette for the card... but I am just silly like that.
I snapped a photo of her silhouette with my iPhone, then uploaded it into the Silhouette Design software. Clicked wildly until I got the desired results and Ta-dah! It was perfect!
We also selected a pretty frame from the Silhouette store online. So far my Silhouette has really made this project easy peasy! Gosh I love that machine. Although, I tried cutting some of the fabric paper with the machine, that did not go so well. Clearly it was my settings, but we ended up with something simpler in the long run instead.
Last, we decided upon "You're Invited" for the front of the card because "PARTY!!" just didn't have that vintage feel we were going for, lol. I selected a font in the Silhouette software, welded, then outlined and magically we had a beautiful layered sentiment for the invitation fronts.
A little glue, and some love and here is what we have! The fabric paper pack is so pretty! I plan to use the rest of it for other party decor.
Here they all are glued and embellished! I really love how these turned out!
Have a fabulous weekend, and I look forward to hearing from you!
