Once again I decided to use this weeks sketch to make an Operation Write Home card. These sketches are really not for A2 sized cards (cut an 8.5x11 piece of paper in half and fold one half over in half, gives you an A2 card), but where I can, I plan to make it work! For the rest of 2012 when making an OWH card, I plan to mainly make everyday cards. Love you, Miss you, Happy Birthday, Thinking of you... There are loads of crafty ladies making seasonal themed cards, and since there are deadlines and such that I am not quite prepared for, this seemed like the best way to go. Besides, when they do updates for what new cards are needed, this seems to be what is mostly needed! So it's a win-win right?
Here is what I came up with...
Now I can't even imagine where I might have come up with this color scheme (lol), but I wanted to incorporate some texture (missing from my project last week, drat). The Pink and green layers were embossed and since they were both white core papers, they were distressed as well. I stamped that back circle with a damask stamp in the same color that I stamped the sentiment.
I didn't use a Cricut, silhouette or anything fancy at all. I used scraps from my scrap box and a pair of scissors! I also used a can lid as a template for nice straight circles. So stamps, scissors and glue is all that's really needed. The embossing folders are kinda fun too! ;)
Well I hope you enjoyed today's project and check back! I have lot's more fun stuff coming up this week!
