Spring Time!

I am seriously in love with the baskets from the Picnic in the Park kit from SVGcuts.com.  I also have a spoecial place for the Chantilly paper kit form close to my heart... So I combined them!  The result?  One of my all time favorite projects!  These colors just are so happy and perfect for a picnic!

The basket is fully functional, and opens on both sides like a regular picnic basket.  It's lovely for a gift bag, or just to keep and stare at on your desk, cause it's so gosh darn cute!

Hope you enjoyed today's project, and that you're inspired.  :)

Hark! Another Project!

First off, let me again say how good it is to be back!  Thank you for the sweets messages, the likes and the new follows! Comments and FB likes are just pure enjoyment.  I love the kind and fun crafty community...

I did manage to get a couple of projects out this weekend. This is another one for ME!  I never make myself stuff, it's always given away as gifts, so I decided to use favorite papers and colors and make a few fun little things.  This is the "jewelry box" from SVGcuts Playful Parlour Kit.

I used Close to my Hearts For Always paper pack and the Lagoon cardstock that comes in it.  I LOVE the Lagoon Cardstock and think I will stock up on it! :)  I topped it off with some of my favorite ribbon, also CTMH.

Nothing like a little embossing to make things extra fancy.  It also gives a lot of dimension to the piece with the embossing, and the white core peeking through is a lovely touch.
This little piece of cuteness holds three 3x3 post it packs and two of the small ones with it.  Perfect for my desktop!  I hope you enjoyed this project as much as me!
Thank you again for visiting and your kind words.

Hello! I have missed you!

Hello Crafty Friends!  I have missed you!  There has been a long dry spell of non-craftiness lately.  I am not sure what happened, but I clearly needed a break.  Finally yesterday the starts, the sun, moon and planets aligned and I was able to have some crafty time, and actually felt like using it!
I decided that my first order of business was to make some decorations for my desk at work.  Currently, there is nothing inspiring to look at while I am at my desk all day!  Terrible, right?

The first thing I made was a cute little basket to hold candy on my desk for my co-workers.  I used the new Picnic at the Park kit from my very favorite SVGCuts.com.
The Claire paper pack from Close to my heart I thought would be really cute for this.  The denim paper is adorable as the basket weave!  (Well I think so anyways)

I have a couple more projects to share later this week as part of the desk decor project.
By the way, who is your favorite SVG source?

Thanks for visiting! I promise not to be such a stranger again!

BINGO!

Welcome to our March Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop!   As you know, both the Artiste and the Art Philosophy cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant.  If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create.   If you came from Michelle ~ My Flights of Fancy then you are in the right place!
Our challenge this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a "BINGO" card!
Here is the BINGO card that our Consultants were given:
The Consultants were told they could  make anything they wanted using the Artiste OR Art Philosophy cartridge AND you work off the BINGO card posted above. Basically, you make a "BINGO" by going across, down, or diagonally and you have to use everything in that bingo line.
For my project I used the Artiste Cartridge and chose this 3D treat box. I also featured Close to My Heart's Chantilly paper pack. I made a quick little tag from scraps left over form decorating the box, some Spring (flowers) and some bling and Cha Ching! All done! I attached the tag with the CTMH burlap ribbon. It's one of my favorite things! The sentiment was stamped on vellum and adhered to the tag, for a little dimension that isn't easy to capture with the camera. I know just who this pretty little treat box will be for!
Your next stop on our "BINGO" hop is Jennifer ~ 4 Hearts Scrapbooking.
Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way:
  1. Lucy ~ Love 2 Create
  2.  Theodora ~ Celebrate Crafts
  3. Penny ~ It Makes Total Cents
  4. Michelle ~ My Flights of Fancy

  6. Jennifer ~ 4 Hearts Scrapbooking
  7. Michelle ~ My Creations with Michelle
  8. Traci ~ Paper Crafting 101
  9. Stephanie ~  The Quilted Scrapper
Thanks for hopping along with us - we hope we were able to inspire you.

HIMCR- Freestyle!

Today's Hiding in my Craft Room theme is Freestyle!  AKA ANYTHING you wanna make! :)  I hope you go link up a fun challenge.  My Freestyle project is really parts of what I think I decided will be a larger project. But I'm not sure ;)  Anywhooo.  I decided to decorate one of those cute little craft store dollar bird houses, and I did it all with paper!  Paper ribbons, paper wall painting, even a tiny little bunting for the birds! The imaginary ones anyhow. I don't want any real birds in there.  LOL.
I also made a cute little bunting banner to "Welcome" Spring in matching paper. Cause I love this random paper from my stash and I wanted to use it for something extra cute!
Got any guesses what I might use this stuff on?
Anyhow, I have had lots of fun with this week's "freestyle" project.  Sadly, this is my last week on the HIMCR design team.  I have had a fabulous time working with talented ladies and I am totally glad I did it! I wasn't able to continue because I have some other commitments that really need to come before crafting (what!?) and a weekly commitment is A LOT more work than I thought! lol  Lesson learned.

I hope you've enjoyed today's inspiration and I hope you enjoy the new DT gals too!  They are a super fabulous bunch.

HIMCR- Happy Anniversary!

This week's Hiding in my Craft Room challenge is an Anniversary Challenge!  Laurie's anniversary is today.  Some of the other gals have Anniversaries this month too!  So it's a timely challenge.  My Anniversary in fact is in just a couple short weeks too!
Technically this could be a super scraps Saturday post too, lol.  I used my favorite paper pack from close to my heart and a little bling to "hold" the banners on.  Other than that, i kept it simple and sweet.  Just how i like it!

Oh how I love thee...

I am totally having a love affair with Pinterest.  There are so many clever, yummy and fun to look at things on there.  I am inspired... ready to go craft... then...

Then sometimes I hate Pinterest.  Who has time to make all this stuff?  And the money?  And the talent, and creativity!  Sometimes it makes me feel... inadequate. Like a slacker.

Mostly I love it.  I have been making much lately.  You know that whole life in the way thing.  So today, I thought I would share a couple of this weeks pins that I am inspired to try!

Faux Chalkboard Art

I am totally a fan of the chalkboard art thing going on these days.  I am looking forward to a quiet few moments to give this one a try:

There is a You Tube video and everything over at:  What you Make It

Interactive Cards

I'm excited about this interactive card i found over at Ribbon Girls

This beautiful  pop up card looks lovely and like lots of fun to make.  This tutorial at Crafticious will hopefully get me through!
